Assessments
What is the £17.99 Heating System Health Assessment?
It is a guided home heating water assessment. Scan the QR code in your assessment kit box and log in to the Test Results Portal before testing. Only complete the guided checks while logged in, then see the results, explanation and printable report in your dashboard. See how the kit works.
When is a Completion Certificate issued?
A Completion Certificate is only issued after a successful test scores more than 80%. Completing the test does not automatically qualify for a certificate.
It is not a declaration of safety or compliance, proof that no defects exist, or a substitute for professional inspection.
Do I need an Assessment before a professional Survey?
No. You can enquire about either £299 survey without buying or completing a home kit. Compare the survey options.
Does a poor Assessment result mean my system needs cleaning?
No. A result should support further understanding and an appropriate next step. Cleaning is one possible outcome, not an automatic diagnosis or instruction.
What does the Assessment Kit check?
The guided journey includes water-quality, inhibitor and pH checks. The results route explains each recorded reading and its place in the overall picture.
Heating Surveys
Who carries out the survey and how long can a visit take?
Surveys take place in customers’ homes and are completed by Dr Radiator or an approved trade partner. A visit can take 3–6 hours depending on the work required and agreed with you. Confirm the expected visit length when arranging it.
When will I receive my survey report?
Your report is delivered instantly at the time of the survey. You view it on a tablet and discuss the findings with the person carrying out your survey. If work is required and agreed with you, a quote is also generated and discussed during the same visit. A survey does not commit you to buying further work.
Is a survey available at my property?
We offer nationwide coverage for heating surveys and CleanFlow. Include the property location in your enquiry so we can arrange the visit and confirm access arrangements.
What is the difference between an Assessment and a Survey?
An Assessment is customer-led and completed at home. A professional Survey is an on-site service centred on professional findings, evidence and a clear report.
How much do the professional Surveys cost?
The Home Heating Survey and Home Buyer’s Heating Survey each cost £299.
Am I required to buy work after a Survey?
No. The Survey is a standalone service. Any later recommendation and quotation are considered separately, and the customer decides whether to proceed.
How do I enquire about a Survey?
Use the direct enquiry link for a Home Heating Survey or a Home Buyer’s Heating Survey. The selected service is carried into the contact form. You are sending an enquiry, not making a booking or payment.
Home Buyers
What does the Home Buyer’s Heating Survey provide?
It provides professional on-site heating-system evidence and a report to support a more informed property decision.
Is seller or authorised access required?
Appropriate access permission is required before attendance. Permission to access the property is separate from appointment scheduling and does not by itself determine who may receive the commissioning buyer’s report.
Can an Assessment replace a Home Buyer’s Survey?
No. A customer-led Assessment and a professional on-site Survey are different services. Choose according to the evidence and assurance you need.
Trade
What is the public £60 Trade Assessment 5-Pack?
It contains five Assessments for a heating professional to use with their own customers.
Does buying the Trade pack make me a Provider?
No. The public pack does not include Provider Survey tools, Provider status or automatic eligibility for opportunities.
Where do Trade Partners register or sign in?
Use the Trade portal to register or access your account.
Are opportunities or earnings guaranteed?
No. Eligibility or qualification does not guarantee work, conversion, earnings or a particular return.
Lettings
What can a Lettings Partner refer?
You can refer eligible clients for a Home Heating Survey or Home Buyer’s Heating Survey. Read about lettings referrals.
How does Lettings commission work?
The headline rate is 15% on eligible completed Surveys. Referral eligibility and completion conditions apply.
Where are referrals managed?
Use the Lettings portal for referral tracking and your account.
Results and Work
What happens after I enter Assessment results?
You receive recorded results, dashboard information, a printable report and guidance. View a sample dashboard.
What is the decision sequence for later work?
Findings → recommendation → quotation → customer decision. A recommendation does not create an obligation to proceed.
What is included in a CleanFlow clean?
CleanFlow includes system cleaner, repeated drain-downs and additional cleaner where needed to bring the heating water into the correct balance. It also includes work to clear blocked pipes, radiators and other system blockages, plus other improvements recommended by the survey and agreed with you.
The service includes inhibitor treatment and a re-test. A Completion Certificate is only issued after a successful test scores more than 80%. The exact work and price are set out in your quotation. See the CleanFlow scope.
Where does CleanFlow fit?
Your survey findings help you decide what work is needed. CleanFlow cleans the internals of a home heating system when cleaning is appropriate, and is carried out by Dr Radiator or an approved trade partner. Compare the proposed work, price and checks before choosing who will do it. See how to compare your options.
Why re-test?
Re-testing lets you compare heating-water readings before and after work, see what changed and check the outcome against the improvements you paid for. The £30 Twin Re-test Pack contains two separate assessments and can also be used at different times. You do not need a previous assessment. View the twin pack.
Does testing replace boiler servicing or safety checks?
No. The Assessment is not a boiler service, gas-safety check or professional diagnosis of every possible component fault.
Emergency or safety concerns should use appropriate emergency or qualified professional channels, not an online Assessment.
Ordering and delivery
Which assessment pack should I choose?
The £17.99 kit provides one assessment. The £30 twin pack provides two separate assessments, and the £60 Trade 5-Pack provides five. Registered, app-enabled Provider products are a separate range. Compare the products in our Shop.
Will I need an account to buy?
The purchase process asks new customers to create an account and returning customers to sign in. Test access is separate from your shop account: scan the QR code in your assessment kit box and log in to the Test Results Portal before beginning. Only complete the test while logged in.
When will my kit be dispatched?
We aim to dispatch within two working days using Royal Mail 48 Tracked or Evri. The aim is not a guarantee. The current product listings show free shipping; read the delivery and returns terms for the details that apply to your order.
Where can I find the instructions or get help?
Download the preview instructions or see the kit overview. The downloadable instructions are for preview purposes only. To complete the test, scan the QR code in your assessment kit box and log in to the Test Results Portal. Only test while logged in. Ask Dr Radiator a question if you need help.
